I recall around this time, Juke was beginning to become a thing. The label that really centers around this mix is Planet Mu. They had all-but abandoned breakcore for the most part in favor of promoting more artists doing IDM and Juke. I still followed the label and slowly got into Juke and following that Ghetto House. Naturally I wanted to put together a mix of the stuff so one day, when I was partaking in the old Mary Jane I jumped through a bunch of ghetto house, juke, and IDM and just added what I liked through a playlist. Tweaked the mix a few times over the following week, and then setup my turntables for the 3rd mix I would do on them and played through this on my timecoded traktor records. It may be the most solid mix I had done on those turntables (two stanton t92s & a cheapo numark mixer). There's a lot of chicago ghetto house/juke stuff, a little japanese juke, and a few IDM artists on Planet Mu to break-it-up a little. Originally this mix was dedicated to DJ Rashad who had died not long before this came out. Check out his stuff cause it is phenomenal.
