DJ Moon, real name Ashley Moon, aka DJ Ashstafari. Born 1982 in
Blackburn, United Kingdom. DJing since 1998.
As a boy he was surrounded by music lovers with a wide variety of
tastes and styles, everything from rock & roll, 80s power ballads to 90’s
rave. He quickly realised that the sounds, the beat and the energy of
electronic dance music appealed to him the most.
At 16 years of age, he attended the Creamfields festival and that’s
when he realised DJing was all he wanted to do. In his early years he
focused primarily on mixing Electro and Tech house genres under
various aliases before making the switch to Techno. This decision was
influenced by his love for the work of DJ Carl Cox, Dave Clarke and
Sven Vath, who all remain idols of his today. His other influences
include Fatboy Slim, The Chemical Brothers and Daft Punk.
He holds a residency with truenorthradio.ca in Canada where he hosts
his own online techno radio show, he has played gigs all across the UK,
Ireland and mainland Europe for the likes of New dimension, Aloha,
Fearie Pirates, Tynepsyde Crew and the Liberty Captains and is a
resident for Manchester based outfit Crystal Kids. His most recent
achievement is his acceptance on the artists roster at the MOAI
Platform.
His creative style sets him apart when mixing sets, with his long, high
energy, driving mixes and exciting transitions. He is the transporter of
minds and souls to a musical paradise that leaves you feeling reinvigorated
and energised! His deep passion for Techno is clearly felt in
his delivery and It is an experience not to be missed!
