To some, Clyde Rouge may be an unfamiliar name; that can be easily forgiven, but it doesn’t detract from the fact that he has been supported by some of the biggest names in the industry during his career. Clyde’s style is somewhat artistic and unconventional in today’s climate, operating a smooth fusion of Deep Tech and Progressive that has tribal undertones laced throughout. As much as the term individual is thrown around, it’s clear from the calibre of labels that he has released on that he is ticking all the right boxes whilst staying true to himself as an expressive artist. Over the course of the Scottish DJ/Producer’s music career, he has seen commendable levels of support from iconic figures within the electronic dance music industry; from Laurent Garnier to Richy Ahmed, Danny Tenaglia right through to Scuba, Clyde has surpassed many peoples’ default expectation of themselves as an artist in a short space of time (having only branched out into production in 2014). The proud owner and front man of his own ‘Chief Rouge Records’, Clyde is no stranger when it comes to big labels; with releases on Bully Beatz, Suffused Music, Beat Boutique and now several releases on Tres 14, Clyde finds himself heading in the right direction with no sign of slowing up in the slightest. With all of the above in mind it’s hard to imagine how you can progress beyond such level of achievement, however, Clyde’s hunger for creating raw, striking and authentically flavoured music is one that will live on for an extremely substantial period of time. Expect to see and hear a lot more of Clyde over the coming months and beyond.
