My first song - music and lyrics. It will be interesting to hear what people think. A rough demo. This will probably be the last of my low-fi recordings before I go back to doing things properly. The lyrics were written a very long time ago, long before I picked up a guitar, for a project which never happened. I finally had the idea of using them for something.

He's getting nervous, thinks it's time to go,
Thinks he ought to make a move, before the others know.
They catch him in an alley, trying to get away,
He doesn't have the money, but still they make him pay.
She's getting older, no one comes to call,
She has to hook the passing trade, or she score at all.
A winter morning finds her, too cold to shiver,
She's turned her final trick,
They find her body in the river.
It's getting late now, and you should be in bed,
Don't tempt fate now, the dead of night and someone's dead.
Another victim, another unsolved crime,
Nameless, faceless, and no one finds the time to care.
We see it happen every day, the way we live our lives,
Turn your head and walk away, walk away and close your eyes.
We close our eyes.
