Decap is a San Francisco based hip-hop sonic sculptor who has produced for artists such as Talib Kweli, Snoop Dogg, Ne-Yo, and Tim Kile (formerly of Arcade Fire). “I love to see people make permanent positive changes and I love being a catalyst for change. To be part of that, I have to make music that inspires.” With this aim, Decap’s self-described approach as a producer is to incorporate the grittiest hip-hop elements with new relevant sounds. Like the early vanguards of hip-hop, Decap’s compositions honor the raw but melodic, the penetrating and even the otherworldly.
