Tribute to a local (to me) fallen WW1 soldier
The song is written about a young Irish lad who lived and worked a local (to us)farm many years ago and left home to fight in the great war. His mother received a letter from him saying he was fine and not to be worrying,but later that same day she was officially informed he had been shot dead at a listening post in Flanders. He was 22 years old.
