Bass Goddess - Honouring the Divine Feminine Archetype

Bass Goddess is a tribute to the divine feminine archetype of the mother, that creative force of existence which brings the priceless gift of life. We are all part of the divine feminine, as it gave birth to us all. It manifests in women and in the nurturing earth around us, giving an energy with fascinating beauty and powerful depths. Those qualities are reflected in this remix, which features middle-eastern instruments and singing combined with heavy psydub bass. This fusion of genres was inspired by music at the Beats Without Borders series of events, organized by Nils von Hahn in Vancouver, BC.

The design of this remix was co-created with Andrea McLean, as a Bellydancing Jam at Summer Intention 18.5: Enchanted Forest. My community, the Intention Gathering, was invited to share their bellydancing clothes and accessories, and try doing some bellydancing moves to the music. It was fun. The event occurred at Crystal Creek on the Sunshine Coast, at sunset on a gorgeous summer day. The remix was accompanied by live djembe drumming, as is always the way in a Praxis performance.
