D-men-C

Born under the name Raf Geysen in the Antwerp district (Belgium) on the 27th of octobre 1977, D-men-c entered the world of music at the age of 10. At this time there was no house or techno-scene, so he started playing the clarinet and the saxophone. They gave him an idea of composition, harmony and rhythm. Growing older, his increasing amount of testosterone led him on a rougher musical path. He began listening to punkrock and hardcore. The love for speed was hereby established. Being convinced that he would listen to this music for the rest of his life he started his higher education in Gent. This student city had a small youth club called "democrazy". They organized technoparties and he stranded on one of them. In the beginning he did not understand the music until Joey Beltram's "forklift" played in the Luke Slater's remix. He was amazed what an atmosphere you can create by just moulding and stretching one single sound. After a few parties he wanted to become a dj and so he did. Together with his nephew he practiced night after night. After a few year's, the decks were not so interesting anymore so they had to be sold. But the bass bug had bitten him so hard that after two year's he started again. The world of dj's had turned into a digital one so it was time to follow this evolution. This enabled him to be more creative by experimenting with more decks and fx. Embracing these possibilities he tries to bring you uplifting sets with a slightly mystical atmosphere.
