My first ever international supporting set and it was mutherfuckin' Tech Itch & Dylan!!!

WARNING - This is a rookie and live mix from 10 years ago, worth a listen but read below for the back story first

Joined a new crew called Bassoids and our first big party was the release party for Tech Itch & Dylan's LP on the Hell Down Under tour. We packed out Club Retro with 300-400 people. Club Retro was the only club we could find available. Shady as fuck nightclub on Lonsdale St with a vending machine with vibrators and editable panties which is usualy a 'pick up' club playing purely retro. he bar staff & management shat themselves when they heard the music (and also stole all the door takings at the end of the night)

I was going under the name of DMZ (which was me and an ex-mate). DMZ was a much better name than 'ctoafn' and was well before the name DMZ became synonymous with club that helped launch Dubstep. All for the best though.

The place was rammed jammed and was up for the heaviest shit we could throw at them but on top of shitting ourselves playing to so many people right before the Godfather's of Heavy DnB stood over us, the needles were skipping like crazy as the dancefloor bounced so its a bit messy in spots but the vibe was insane and the only reason I'm putting this up.

We were lucky enough to have MC's Wasp, Dr Sponk and JC rotating on the mic who did a mad job hyping and made it an epic night.

Made the total rookie mistake of playing some big Tech Itch tunes right before he came on to play which I still cringe hearing but I was a newbie and learnt not to do that again pretty quickly.

Also my first big rewind when Paradrenasite dropped. Still get goosebumps.

So its a bit of a messy mix at times but it taught me some big lessons which helped shape me as a DJ and what would introduce me into the Melbourne DnB scene.
