Dave Lock

David Ortega AKA Dave Lock, Clockwork Joy, and Mad King George was born in Mexico City, Mexico in 1975. Music was always one of his interests. In 1989 he moved to Tucson Arizona USA where in 1994 he attended his first underground House and Techno music events. He fell in love with electronic dance music from the first beat. He promoted for local event promoting companies such as Vibal Funktions, Planetary Productions, and Los Angeles based Global Energy Music. In 1995 he decided to become a dj collecting Goa Trance, Hard Trance and Progressive House vinyl. In early 1996 he obtained his first job as a DJ at the Casbah Tea House in Tucson where he worked for 8 months getting paid in tea and middle eastern sweets. He played at several events promoted by Third Eye Unity Project and 23% Records in Tucson. He also started his musical production experiments using Tracker programs.

In 2002 he started getting serious about producing and started learning how to use sequencer programs and soft synths. Now he produces in a variety of styles including Progressive House, Deep House, Tech house, Breakbeat, Techno, Acid, and Experimental. He is released as a producer and remixer under the labels Bit Records Mexico and Xela Digital (Mexico), Airport Route Recordings (Iceland), 220v Recordings (Malaysia), and Decksharks (Germany).

His influences include but are not limited to: Oliver Lieb, Dan Efex, Sandra Collins, Dj Huggie, Ron D Core, Jon Bishop, David Alvarado, Jrush, Dj Dan, Hardkiss, Shaheen, Dj Scott, Dj Shawn, Terry Lee Brown Jr., Simon Posford, The Green Salamander, KJ, Thee-O and the list goes on.

As a Dj, he played an online Radio Show in 2005 called "Moving Darkness" hosted by djzone.gr, a Greek web based radio station. He was also a music critic and reviewer for the now defunct Progressivehouse.com. He currently promotes EDM events with his company Palapa and has taught dozens of other Djs their trade
