ChaR1ot33r

ChaR1ot33r+   ))   Amsterdam, Netherlands

Parthasarathi Singh, better known by his stage name ChaR1ot33r, is an Indian, non-commercial DJ, specializing in EDM and reggaeton. Over the years, he has had a slew of name changes, and with each name change, a portfolio of remixes to boast of. From Call Me Maybe to Lollipop Lagelu, BIBA to Dil Ka Telephone, he has a slew of mixes to his name. Hailing from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, and currently living in Roorkee, Uttarakhand, he started off in 2010, as DJ Death Spider, becoming the subject of many a meme. Though this was a unique (and completely non-derivative) name, ChaR1ot33r wanted to break out of the mould of being 'just a DJ'. So he fashioned himself a new one, one he thought was completely novel, but was in fact a well-known part of popular culture: Velocifaptor. Soon, he realized that though this name was good, it reflected his commercial side, his band known as The Gangbang Boys, which is known for making bold and often vulgar music, and not everyone appreciates the explicit. Moreover, Velocifaptor wasn't Parthasarathi Singh, and Parthasarathi Singh wasn't Velocifaptor. So finally, by tweaking a pen name derived from a wordplay on the literal meaning of his first name, as well as the otaku website Tokyo Otaku Mode, he finally settled on a name that sounds professional and reminiscent of other artists in the genre: ChaR1ot33r (deliberately spelled ChaR1ot33R in the logo). He sincerely hopes that his music will reflect the love for music he has, as well as the desire to create something which is much more than just the sum of its parts.
