The work of the so-called Berlin School (of electronic music) was certainly of fundamental importance for the development of newer electronic music. Important representatives are Manuel Göttsching, Klaus Schulze and Tangerine Dream (especially Christopher Franke, who was one of the first to use live sequencers). To understand the aesthetics of this music, the following statement about Berlin by Bernd Kistenmacher (see: bit.ly/2ZTrziJ) might be helpful: "A place that is surrounded by a wall that has forced me to raise my head and look at the stars. Nothing has changed in this regard. Only that this wall is today in the hearts of men." Edgar Froese called this style of music "cosmic music".
This piece is an attempt to paraphrase and deconstruct music in the style of the Berlin School.
