E. Clapton described the influence that the brilliant John Weldon "J. J." Cale had on him as follows: "I wanted to kind of see the virtuosity, I wanted to get back to fundamentals, and he was a fundamentalist for sure. And so he was my beacon."

One of the many outstanding songs of J. J. Cale is certainly "I Got the Same Old Blues". Here's an attempt to interpret the piece with a little bit of jazz and still give a hint of the "laid back".
