Music from Kordofan

A large, mostly rural region that spreads to the south and west from the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, Kordofan is home to numerous traditional communities and tribal groups. All the artists on this mix are Kordofanian, and several of them use their music to modernize traditional Kordofanian music including Jararaa, Tawaya, Merdoum, Duwbiat, and Hasis.
