Auto-Pilot

On this site I showcase a cross section of my most recent soundtrack type work. I write to what I am feeling at the time so here you'll find a cross section of styles ranging from a classical ensemble to dark meandering drones. For my main Auto-Pilot music head on over to regular sites (links below).
Bio -
A sea of dark, moody and uplifting electronic sounds from the North of England....
Auto-Pilot (aka Adrian Collier) Started in 1995 as an electronic based side project to (at the time) main focus band 'The Fokker Pilots' it quickly out grew & took over into what is now an evolving electronic musical journey.
At that time, the one recorded album 'Ocearina' attracted major interest but remained unreleased at this stage as an array of musicians joined in the live side fun over the next few years until the project shelved in 1997. Re-emerging in 2007 as a studio only affair, two full albums were released, ‘Ocearina’ & ‘Out Here’ (Holophon), 2 EP's soon followed, ‘Lights Across the Street’ (Broque, 2008) & ‘A Fractured Echo’ (51beats, 2009).
The release of ‘The Atlantic Machine’ (9 Volt, 2012) stirred thoughts of performing live again. Teaming up with former Fokker Pilot compatriot Shaun Herbert gave rise to this opportunity when on October 5th 2013, Auto-Pilot performed at the Electronic Circus in Gutersloh, Germany followed by an appearance at the Awakenings the following week.
With the impending release of 4th album ‘8-Zero (Flicknife, 2015) Auto-Pilot returned to Germany to attend the Schallwelle Music Awards having been nominated for both the best international album and international electronic act.
Between releases certain tracks have found their way in various broadcasts and other projects. The song ‘Spooky’ featured in both the Brit indie comedy ‘Ghosthunters dot Con’ and Nickelodeon (USA) comedy series ’11-11’. Most proudly the track ‘Deep Thought’ founds its way into a Greenpeace Global Warming campaign.Auto-Pilot continues to break new ground within the electronic sound barrier and perform live whenever the situations arise.
