The Actor And The Playwright

My submission for /r/songamonth April 2016.

This was....a weird one. I started this by hearing a loop I heard online. It just so happened to be the chord progression of Canon in D. So, I recreated the loop with my own piano, made the base of the song, and made some lyrics. After finishing the majority of the song, my father (Scott van Teeffelen) jumped in and added some awesome guitar and bass work, along with final mixing and mastering.

The song is meant to be about a guy who loves a girl, even if he knows that she's controlling. It's basically a love-blind relationship, where the guy can't acknowledge that the girl can do anything wrong, while it is blatantly obvious to everyone around him.

I apologize for any odd lines out, it’s hard to put into words,

I guess It’s so confusing, the way you’re using but if we,
Stop, and take hold, we better, hurry ‘fore we get too old,
