This song showed its face during the late 20’s composed by Joseito Fernandez, from Cuba, dedicated to his girlfriend who lived in Guantanamo; (Guantamera means woman from Guantanamo). During the 50’s the lyrics of this, by then, very popular song were changed with some of Jose Marti´s poetry. The song´s beat is not latin but Son Guajiro, unfortunately its internationalization made it sound more latin style. In this personal version we´re sticking to the Son Guajiro beat, with a slight rock touch.
