Departure

Just over 12 months ago I began practising for a competition called Your Shot. It's like 'The Voice' for DJs, and after missing out on getting into the 2013 comp by an hour because it was over-subscribed, I was prompted to start practising for the next year in anticipation of the 2014 event. Well, that 12 months have passed and sadly I didn't get into the 2014 final 76 :( So this is the first mix I've done that isn't in preparation for the Your Shot comp...interesting. I was afraid that I might lose interest and just give up, but in fact nothing really changed and I began planning my next mix just as I had for the last year...and I decided to try something different!

This is a TOTAL departure for me but I've found some tunes in this deep/tech/prog house mix that I really love. I'm not normally a deep house DJ (the fact that I've included both deadmau5 AND DJ Sneak tracks here is proof of that :P ) but it's a genre for which I've gained a huge respect.
