This set is based on the records played at this neat event I went to in NYC at the Roseland Ballroom, March 30, 2001 called "The World of Drum and Bass". I'm pretty sure this was the only event ever on the east coast where famous Jungle DJs actually showed up. In the past I had tryed to see DJ Hype and he would never show up. At this event however, everyone who was billed actually showed up which was amazing. Grooverider, Fabio, DJ Rap, DJ SS, and the less famous Twisted Individual were actually there. Even better is this was during the phase where Jungle was getting back to its roots by making new tracks in a 1992/1993 style. So this was right up my alley and I really had a great time. I tracked down all of the records I loved at this event such as Circut Breaker "Beat Bitch", and Digital's L-Plates 3, both played by Grooverider. Fabio played the fabulous Casino Royal by Zinc and Spaced Invader remix by J Magic as well as three really nice 1993 throw back tracks by Total Science.

This set I made captures the vibe of that night very well with actual tracks played by the DJs that evening. I have this one messy memory of being pretty out of sorts, resting on the hard carpeted floor in the corner when I heard the Total Science remix of the famous 1992 track "Wot's My Code" by Ray Keith, at that point I got up and just started dancing like a nut. Grooverider closed the whole night with L-Plates 003. Halfway through the track the main gym lights of the Roseland came on. I was so impressed with how much this track sounded like the stuff Groove played in 1992 I kept on dancin'. Fun times!
