Well, you know that my stuff is unpredictable! Not sure what to call this; people who don't like jazz won't like it because they think it's too jazzy, while people who do like jazz won't like it because it isn't jazzy enough, lol.

I called it The Three Faces of Yves as a pun on The Three Faces of Eve, the 1957 Joanne Woodward film about multiple personality disorder, a condition which has been largely debunked since then, though people certainly do create internal characters that take over in traumatic conditions. Anyway, this song appears to reflect a bit of that, though the only trauma is musical. :-) . I initially wrote and recorded the first third of it (about 2:20 worth) and then for some reason spontaneously did a 3.5 minute improv that was only barely related to it but liked the result so then I had to accompany it. Since the improv was completely free form with lots of pauses and no click track to sync to, this was interesting.
