Sounds of Tropical Swing

Tropical Swing is a musical and cultural radio show hosted by Peter Lombardi, dedicated to global grooves, with a strong focus on Latin and Caribbean rhythms, crossovers between tradition and electronic music, and new releases from around the world.

The show explores music as movement, celebration, identity, and fusion — a journey through the roots and future paths of the sounds that make the body move and the mind open.

Tropical Swing joins Carlo Chicco every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. on his Drive In show on Radio Bari.

Peter Lombardi is an Italian DJ and radio speaker with a deep passion for the rhythms of the Global South. My sets are a journey through Afro-tropical sounds moving through Cumbia, Afrobeat, Disco amd House.

He is the co-founder of Jungle2Jungle, an Afro-tropical duo formed with Mike Lass that fuses funk and afrobeat with disco and electronic influences. Together, they have supported international acts like Quantic, Chancha Via Circuito, Tonico70, Montoya, Parbleu and Pellegrino.

Always exploring new boundaries, Peter is also part of Sonido Estelar (with Zam El Caribean, Marco Buonamico, Mike and Kiace), a collective that merges the energy of a DJ set with live performance, weaving electro-cumbia and dub with traditional instruments.

His roots are in radio. As the founder of the RadioLuogoComune movement, Peter currently hosts Tropical Swing on RadioBari and co-host the live format Musica Colorata with Mr. Dawhit, dedicated to the evolution of Afro-American music.
