„It`s all about the music and that`s how it will always be
with me.“

This words are expressing the deep passion of the
21-years-old house producer and DJ Steve Gilek (public
name : Steffen Kalig) from Wiesbaden/Germany. A passion leading to many plays in media platforms and also huge support for his bootlegs from Nicky Romero, Swanky Tunes, Calvin Harris, Arty etc...

But how did it start ?
Since the tender age of 14 Steffen was fascinated by DJing – he enjoys watching the turntables spin and listening to the mixing of different songs. In result he bought the first equipment and started to make some short mixes, quickly his skills increased like a snowball and he got his first gigs at private parties – a lot of good feedback included.

It kept him to go on and to live his dream, this motivation is expressed best by himself: „When I hear people are supporting and liking my music it just motivates me so much more to keep doing what I`m doing because after all, that`s what I love to see. People enjoying my music.“

Some months later he had further gigs at his hometown and the people were enjoying his bootlegs and loving his sets, another milestone for his developement was reached, therefore he decided to change his former artist name 'Extravagant' into 'Steve Gilek.'

After the first steps in producing took place last year, his first release 'DDei&Estate – Yeah (Steve Gilek & Giulio P. Remix) gets published on
Betty Beat Records followed by many bootlegs.

Steffen strictly is perfecting his skills, further creating his own style influencend most by Nicky Romero and Afrojack and so we can await big sounds from the young talent german especially because some collaborates were in progress and great things in plan…so stay tuned !
