DJ Shaun Rico was born 1998 and raised in Rustenburg, a city in North West. He discovered music since the age of 10 years, which  made him fall in love with being a dj and discovered the person he has become today. As he likes to say it himself, his emotional musical choices are his own medicine.

It was  Black Coffee and Da Capo who first motivated Shaun Rico to become a dj since the age of 11, which further empowered his love for music. It also made him listen to a lot of famous DJ’s early on, such as Christos, Vinny Da Vinci and Julian Gomez. All became a true inspiration for him. Since then, Shaun Rico felt the spark to awaken life through music, the art of living and  making people happy through music.

Shaun Rico decided to further his knowledge of music at Soul Candi Institute of Music by the year, 2021, which further encouraged him to do mixology, driven by his faith and the motivations he had gained through the institute. Bringing his own touch to the music and bringing happiness through music. Music as an antidote for depression, fatigue and any challenge one might encounter today.

The music Shaun Rico plays is Afro Tech and Deep House. In 2017, Shaun Rico started playing at events and parties. Ever since, and till this day, he has been encouraged to do mixology of his own, this has also sparked an interest in him to do production. He believes that music should spark positivity, happiness and the freedom to believe in one's self,  which Afro tech and Deep House are able to do.
