Ricardo Elgardo started his musical career in the early 2000s performing as a dj around his home town of Southend and London as Rich-E, often supporting headline acts as well as helping run local club nights around the area. He turned his focus to music production a few years later and in 2015 he won an award for Best Soundtrack Feature at the Action On Film Festival held in Los Angeles for his original score work on the film “The Liberator”. Since then he has worked on numerous short film scores and now focuses on producing genres such as Progressive & Melodic House, Breaks, Organic House & Trance. Ricardo is also the co-founder of The Sunset Projects along with Dan Gurner, where they showcase stunning sunsets along the Thames Estuary as Youtube feature films to a backdrop of perfectly matched sunset themed productions and tracks. Ricardo is also a resident DJ for Music Unity For Mental Health and the founder and creator of Excessive Progressive, which has been a successful club night, a dj mix series and a weekly radio show on local community dance radio station FunkySX where he showcases the best chilled, deep and progressive house music along with his own productions, remixes and reworks. You can catch his shows every Monday evening 6.30pm - 8pm on FunkySX 103.3fm. Ricardo also works behind the scenes with local record label Boomtic Records run by Terry Oxby. This year Ricardo entered and won a producer competition with his Organic House track Niwa, which will be a forthcoming release on the label Krafted Digital and already has a string of releases lined up. With tracks on labels such as Alter Ego Progressive, Boomtic Records, Emma-Nating Records, LW Recordings & KPR Records, Ricardo’s music is constantly hitting the top 10 Beatport releases charts, as well as featuring on multiple compilation albums.
