From 8th to 15th February 2026 the first phase of the BHARATPUR STREETART FESTIVAL took place, and a long wall at the Balkumari Girls Secondary School at the Campachaur Cricket Pitch was transformed with stunning artwork. In an interview, we spoke with the initiator, MANISH KURMI, who has big plans for the event and intends to paint the city’s largest river bridge. He also runs the creative hub and alternative lodging space MY FRIEND’S HOSTEL. A place for accommodation, but also for workshops, art venues, and therapy for the soul and spirit. MANISH is a creator of such open spaces and art venues, as well he is a fantastic connector and brings people together. In our conversation, he tells us about his countless projects and future ideas.
