Born and raised in a tiny secluded area in the East Rand known for its vibrance and artistic influences, Heidelberg, Ratanda.

Pido is a breath of fresh air into the music scene and those who have bare witnessed the talent cannot stop raving about his electrifying sounds.

Real name, Phillip Rapeane, Born in the early 90's is a special, dedicated and undeniable talent who followed the melodies in pursuit of living his life long dream of being a household name in the music/DJying industry from a tender young age. Being one of the pioneers of the house movement in Ratanda, Pido has stood the test of time and went against all trials and tribulations the industry might have to offer and is still intrigued by the passion that fuels him daily, as he continuously keeps working towards being a benchmark standard for all house lovers and connoisseurs.

Music has always been a part of his everyday life and influences but it was only until High School where he began collecting House collaborations by House Afrika, Vinny Da Vinci, Glen Lewis and DJ Fresh to name a few which later inspired, instilled and encouraged the start of a wonderful journey. Pido once formed part of a house duo named “The Hive” with his childhood friend, Thulani Masilo, who was also responsible for showing him his way around the pitch in his early days, but has since embarked on a solo career which has seen him soar to greater heights and share stages with some of his idols and influencers from all walks of life.

Pido is also part of a corporation that's set out to change SA's entertainment industry known as The RDF (Ratanda DJ's Festival) Corporation, which is notoriously known for hosting annual events simultaneously giving platforms to young and upcoming artists/DJ's who share a similar passion and dedication for the entertainment industry at large.

He draws his inspiration from well established DJ's and producers with a distinct taste in music such as George Lesley, Soulfreakah, Zeedan, China, Vinny Da Vinci, Sculptured Music and his glorious mentor and Elegant Experience tour host, Picat Da Italian.

Pido has also been affiliated with events such as The Hamfest and The Annual Nigel Dam Event to name a few, he has previously made an appearance on Vuzu's Hit Refresh once and has also shared the stage with refined names like Picat Da Italian, Sculptured Music, Rocco, Malankane, Zulu Mafia, Ralf Gum, June Jazzin, Charles Webster, China, Vinny Da Vinci and DJ Christos in the past.
