JOE ROGERS
BIOGRAPHY

For electronic underground dance music to evolve, take shape and turn new corners in terms of creativity and to keep things exciting, it does of course rely entirely on the introduction of new blood. With fresh talent coming in with equally fresh and thought provoking ideas, it is no less these future heroes that along with their seasoned, international headlining peers that scenes are kept innovative and continue to thrive on a week to week basis.

Joe Rogers can be easily counted as one of those new faces and earns the 'one to watch' badge of approval with ease. Showing versatility in his mixing abilities, an ecstatic vibe in all of his sets and a keen drive to both entertain a dance floor through his excellent productions or by means of one of his electric DJ sets, Joe has fast become that one to watch indeed.

Having already established that the very art or turntablism was in his family through his Cousins whom had indeed been both playing out and performing at their own events in Joe's hometown of Portsmouth and it's surrounding areas; Joe took inspiration from this and learned to mix the new rave sound on old set of his good friends belt drive turntables and turned his hand to promotion also with an again local event entitled Substance. The events were a marginal success, profiling local and up and coming breakthrough UK hardcore talent that put Joe in good stead for the future that lay ahead.

At this time, Joe, contented with his development as both DJ and Promoter, taking it one step at a time then took to production. Using basic production packages such as Fruity Loops to make interesting and innovative UK hardcore tracks, he also developed a taste for producing electro house tracks at the very same time. It was during this period of creativity that Joe also had his first experience of producing freeform. With the clear skill for production there, but still a little rough around the edges, Joe sent his freeform creation to prolific producer Kevin Energy, who pointed out where he was going wrong in his mix downs.

By this point, two essentially career changing events would occur, not only would Joe realise that he was in fact neighbours with DJ, Producer, Promoter and international leader of the hard electrik sound movement Scott Attrill and that Scott would indeed teach Joe how to do this properly; but also through Scott's teachings, Joe would discover this new sound and immediately fall in love with it.

Agreeing that from this point forward, Joe would continue learning from Scott and no less, start to fuse his own, more electro house twinged version of the hard electrik sound through Scott's teachings, Joe produced a number of singles that became instant successes when released on widely famed record label Riot! Recordings, which is also owned by Scott along with industry legend BK.

Joe's now impressive Discography of hard electrik excellence includes the 'Let Me Hear You Shout EP' (which took the Number One spot on Track It Down's leading industry chart), 'Drenched', 'What Is Cool' and 'This Won't Stop'. These tracks then went on to further Joe's acclaim by being licensed to a number of 2 x CD, internationally released compilation albums including two seperate editions of the excellent 'Riot! In Ibiza' series and Goodgreef's TV advertised, 3 x CD 'Xtra Hard' compilation album. Joe also had the pleasure of mixing on best selling compilation albums himself, including a disc on 'Riot! Ibiza Anthems' and a mix, back to back with Leon B on the genre re-defining 'This Is Hard Electrik' collection of compiled mixes which re-set the industry standard in terms of both content, size and variation. A fine debut indeed. Industry publication leader Mixmag highlighted his track 'Drenched' as a feature of the Riot! Ibiza Anthems album and of his work on 'This Is Hard Electrik' claimed that "(there are a) ...couple of the UK's freshest talents in Leon B and Joe Rogers".

Leaving his rave and UK hardcore roots behind as his love for the more electro and hard electrik sounds and his clear flair for their development abound, Joe's DJ sets and live performances now reflect this through his continuous appearances at both the epic Riot branded events and large events up and down the UK. Looking back over his career thus far, DJ performance highlights include Portsmouth's now legendary Secret Society, UV, Totally 'Ardcore, Noize and of course Riot itself.

Presently, Joe's work as DJ and Producer is going from strength to strength, consistently honing his skills in the Studio to master his own breed of electro infused electronic goodness worthy of any and all dance floors with an endgame to produce another fully stocked slate of industry chart topping anthems in 2013. There are also further plans to mix a further compilation album for Riot this year and with his technical ability as a DJ in full swing, the Diary is looking wholesomely healthy too.

If you need a DJ that sets the soundtrack to a night and keeps a crowd lively, get Joe Warmup, if however you desire an artist that ups his game with every innovative single production, album mix down and brings an 'electrik', dynamic and energetic performance to every event he has the pleasure of playing at, you get Joe Rogers.
