Spotlight on and tribute to the late great Chris Cornell, featuring solo works alongside killer tunes by Audioslave & Soundgarden as well as rocking music by his contemporaries from the grungy scene & beyond... Soundgarden have been a favorite of mine since 1st hearing Badmotorfinger in 1992. I'd picked up a Sri Lankan street copy on tape & remember being blown out by it on my walkman as I chilled out with a smoke in my hotel room after a day fighting the surf. Stunning stereo effects! Chris Cornell's deep & often disturbing lyrics - with their images of a distressed, tortured world/soul - have a notable air of authenticity & honesty which is reinforced by his outstanding voice & vocal delivery & backed up by Kim Tayil's excellently minimalistic guitar style, the perfect vehicle for these songs. Supergroup Audioslave helped propel him to another level again. The man's music will stand the test of time. Long live the Knights of the Sound Table!
