Sounds of NaelzDikweni

Mthatha

*Naelz Dikweni is a dynamic South African DJ, producer, remixer, and event organizer who has been igniting dancefloors with infectious energy since 2006. Born Fikile Dikweni on 28 May 1985 in Mthatha, Eastern Cape, he grew up immersed in music thanks to a mother whose love for song filled their home with cassettes and melodies. In a community pulsing with hip-hop, 1998 brought a life-changing discovery: house music. Legends like the late DJ Monde, Khabzela, Fresh, DJs at Work (Vinny da Vinci & Christos), Glen Lewis, and Iggy Smallz became his soundtrack, sparking an obsession that would define his career.

By late 2006, Naelz made the bold leap into DJing. Mentored by industry friends including DJ Ice (Nightglows), DJ Masta P, Baba D, and Tee-O, he quickly earned his stripes. Thrown into the deep end as resident DJ at Mthatha's hotspot clubs Antons and Havana Lounge, he shared stages with South African house royalty: Black Coffee, Oskido, Dj Zinhle Culoe De Song, Christos, Rocco, Abicah Soul, Lulo Café, Mahoota, Vetkuk, Andy X, Sisco Umlambo, and NaakMusiQ. He also lit up Black Coffee's iconic annual Homecoming event every 25 December, proving his ability to hold his own among the elite.

Self-taught in music production, Naelz turned his passion into releases. In 2010, he co-founded the Jangoproject collective, landing a breakout remix of Dr. Mtati's "I Can Love You Better" on Dedicated Pictures—climbing to No. 5 on South Africa's top 100 selling tracks and earning them a spot in the official music video. In 2011, he teamed up with longtime collaborator Klerz to launch Groove Mechanix, dropping remixes like Dr. Mtati ft. Pusetso's "Black Brother Superman" in 2012.

His international breakthrough came in 2012 when he connected with Chicago's Highonsoul Records. After emailing a remix of their track "Strong Man" by David Sabat, the label was thrilled—releasing it alongside his take on "Let It Go" and more to follow. His SoundCloud remains a go-to for house, deep house, dance, and hip-hop-infused sets that blend soulful grooves with high-energy builds.

Known for his vivacious personality, flawless technical skills, and crowd-reading mastery, Naelz consistently packs venues and leaves audiences buzzing. Whether hosting at spots like So What Lounge or delivering pumping sets that turn clubs upside down, he knows exactly what dancers crave—and delivers it with effortless style and panache.

Beyond the decks, Naelz gives back through Blue Tiq Entertainment (Pty) Ltd, the company he co-founded. Focused on uplifting emerging DJs, performers, and youth in Mthatha and beyond, Blue Tiq supports community events, nurtures talent, and organizes unforgettable experiences—proving his commitment to growing the scene that raised him.

A true ambassador for South African house music, Naelz Dikweni brings authentic energy, cultural depth, and non-stop vibes that transcend borders. Event organizers worldwide looking for a reliable, crowd-pleasing act who fuses deep house grooves with infectious positivity need look no further.
