Daveyton, South Africa

Lil Soul, born Mpho Gerald Dlamini on December 21, hails from Daveyton, South Africa. A spiritually uplifted DJ and vocalist, Lil Soul has cultivated a rich musical journey that began in his early years at Moshoeshoe Primary School, where he first showcased his vocal talent in the school choir, earning numerous trophies and accolades.

As he progressed through intermediate school, Lil Soul continued to excel as a vocalist, helping his school win awards. His passion for the arts expanded during secondary school, where he joined a local cultural group as the lead singer. This experience not only honed his singing abilities but also unveiled his talents in dancing and acting, leading him to star as the main character in his first stage play.

Despite a promising football career cut short by a knee injury, Lil Soul redirected his focus to music. His commitment to community upliftment saw him featured in the Daily Sun for a project aimed at combating crime, where he collaborated with ex-inmates to create a movement that steered local youth away from drugs and crime.

Lil Soul's musical journey took a significant turn when he formed a Kwaito group called Mafeshin, marking his first foray into the studio. His passion for music deepened when he met the Infinite Boys, who introduced him to house music. His collaboration with them on the track "Ubuntu Bethu" garnered significant attention, being played on YFM and Metro FM, and featured on Mo Flava's "House of Flava" album.

Continuing to work with Infinite Records, Lil Soul contributed to various tracks, including "Sunshine," "Black People," and "Dreams," which further solidified his presence in the industry. His collaborations with notable producers like Abicah Soul, Beppe Gioa, and DJ Clock have led to tracks such as "Let Love Grow" and "Goodbye," enhancing his recognition both locally and internationally.

With an unwavering passion for music, Lil Soul has released solo singles like "Ecstasy" and "New Day," the latter remixed internationally by Abicah Soul and featured on Kenny Khunene's compilation "Zar Fest." Currently, he is focused on new solo projects and a house album, continuing to evolve as an artist.
