My name is Monkey_Esquire and I'm a DJ from Derby, UK.

My main genres are Techno (Peak Time/Driving), Acid Techno, Deep Hypnotic Techno, Tech House, Hard House, Bass House & Jackin' House. I can play many other genres including Jungle/DnB, Garage, Hard Techno, Minimal Techno, Progressive House etc, basically I’ll happily have a try at most genres to better my knowledge and understanding of all different types of electronic dance music.

I started DJ'ing pretty recently in March 2020 but took an instant shine/passion to it and have since been a resident DJ at various internet radio stations. Since lockdown was lifted I have left these stations and managed to play at a few local events. I've since joined other internet radio stations where I have a monthly slot at technoconnection.com and also have a residency with Techno Pulse within this platform. The other station I joined is 212radiouk.com where I also have a residency with Techno Pulse UK.

Techno Pulse also has live Events called Techno Pulse/Ignition Tekno Events where the residents and other guests are currently playing to an ever growing crowd in Leicester. This fairly new event has got better and more popular, event by event, and is starting to establish itself within the music scene with a bright future ahead.

I've got a constant drive to better myself and make a career out of DJing and also production when I learn the correct way to produce a track and have a full understanding of it all. In the meantime I will enter any DJ competition or contest I see which keeps my drive going and hopefully helps establish my name more.

During the second half of 2021 I competed in Mix Master 2021 Competition which is a multi genre competition. I managed to get through 3 different rounds, to reach the semi-final, all of which were live streamed 15 minute mixes scored by some top and well known DJs/ Producers. The semi-final was live on a stage with the judges scoring you there and then. I was just a few public votes from progressing to the final but unfortunately didn't make it, however, I'm extremely proud of getting as far as I did after only learning how to mix the year before.
