MINDCONTROL,

aus dem Raum Mannheim steht seit den frühen 90ern für authentische Basskultur zwischen Jungle, Drum & Bass und Breakbeats. Bereits 1994 begann er seine ersten Sets mit Breakbeat-Sounds, bevor er Mitte der 90er vollständig in die Welt von Jungle und Drum & Bass eintauchte.

Musikalisch geprägt von 80er Synthpop, Soul, Funk und Hip-Hop entwickelte Mindcontrol einen unverwechselbaren Stil, der emotionale Atmosphäre mit treibender Energie verbindet. Sein Sound reicht von deep und atmosphärisch bis hin zu uplifting und euphorisch, getragen von rollenden Breaks, warmen Basslines und einem ausgeprägten Gespür für musikalische Dynamik.

Auftritte in der Ludwigshafener Walzmühle und dem Crime Club neben DJs wie Nicky Black Market oder Ellis Dee machten ihn zu einem festen Bestandteil der regionalen Szene. Später folgten weitere Gigs im Soho Club sowie in der Halle 02, wo er seinen Stil konsequent weiterentwickelte und den Spirit der goldenen Jungle- und Drum & Bass Ära lebendig hielt.

2017 gründete Mindcontrol gemeinsam mit seinem langjährigen Weggefährten DJ Faironne die Crew "Bright Soul Music". Über mehr als zwei Jahre veranstalteten sie in der Mannheimer Kurzbar regelmäßige Events mit internationalen DJs und etablierten damit eine Plattform für deepen und souligen Drum & Bass in der regionalen Szene. Ein besonderes Highlight war zudem der von ihnen kuratierte Drum & Bass Floor auf dem lokalen Tanz der Bässe Festival.

Mindcontrol steht für musikalische Tiefe, seine Sets verbinden nostalgische Jungle-Vibes mit modernen Drum & Bass Einflüssen und schaffen abwechslungsreiche Dancefloor Momente zwischen Atmosphäre, Charakter und Seele.

Hailing from the Mannheim area, Mindcontrol has represented authentic bass culture—spanning Jungle, Drum & Bass, and Breakbeats—since the early 90s. He began playing sets featuring breakbeat sounds as early as 1994 before fully immersing himself in the world of Jungle and Drum & Bass in the mid-90s.

Musically influenced by 80s synth-pop, soul, funk, and hip-hop, Mindcontrol developed a distinctive style that blends emotional atmosphere with driving energy. His sound ranges from deep and atmospheric to uplifting and euphoric, driven by rolling breaks, warm basslines, and a keen sense of musical dynamics.

Performances at venues like Ludwigshafen’s Walzmühle and the Crime Club—alongside DJs such as Nicky Black Market and Ellis Dee—established him as a fixture of the regional scene. Subsequent gigs at the Soho Club and Halle 02 saw him consistently refine his style while keeping the spirit of the golden era of Jungle and Drum & Bass alive.

In 2017, Mindcontrol co-founded the "Bright Soul Music" crew with his longtime associate DJ Faironne. For over two years, they hosted regular events featuring international DJs at Mannheim’s Kurzbar, establishing a platform for deep, soulful Drum & Bass within the local scene. A particular highlight was the Drum & Bass stage they curated for the local "Tanz der Bässe" festival.

Mindcontrol stands for musical depth; his sets fuse nostalgic Jungle vibes with modern Drum & Bass influences, creating diverse dancefloor moments defined by atmosphere, character, and soul.
