The importance of John Mayall to the music of our lives since the mid-60’s can not be overstated. This episode begins with a token of our appreciation for his 90 years on the planet educating, inspiring and demonstrating his love affair with The Blues.

When the studio hardware and database went crazy last month I was able to restore and patch up the damage with very little downtime. I ordered some new parts to complete a proper repair and when everything arrived after finishing FTB #252, my intention was to spend a few days doing the repairs and another 5 or so just chilling, fine tuning the system and enjoying some retirement time. It brings to mind that old quote adapted from Robert Burns' 1785 poem, “To a Mouse” - “The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry.” Unfortunately, it still rings true over 200 years later.

It has taken this long to square away the project to the point of actually putting shows together without damaging another link in the chain. Since funds were limited I was apprehensive, but there was treasure uncovered while looking through boxes for connectors. This episode contains a few tunes from a forgotten 2011 Jason Isbell studio performance that otherwise might be lost forever. “Always look for the good parts not instantly revealed when you have a 40 foot flame up your ass.” That‘S a quote of mine from a few years ago.

There is now a huge backlog of new arrivals to dig into so expect something of an onslaught of fresh sounds in the next episode. Thanks for listening and your support.
