New Kwaito, G'qom (Durban House Music), AmaPiano, and our 7th Annual Valentine's Day Zouk Mix!!

Every Valentine's Day Week, we play the best of Zouk (or Kizomba as it's referred to in Portuguese speaking Countries) , from Angola, Mozambique, Madagascar, Mauritius, Reunion Islands, and Seychelles.

This style of music can be described as Afro-Caribbean R&B (though it originated as a French Caribbean version of Soca music), however it not only gained popularity within the Afro-Caribbean Diaspora in France, but also within the African Diaspora living in France as well.

Zouk eventually transformed to a slower and romantic sound during the late 1980s and not only did it expand it's popularity in Francophone African countries but also in Lusophone (Portuguese speaking) countries, especially Angola and Mozambique.

Listen to the tropical, smooth, and romantic sounds from Artists such as Button Rose (from Angola), Stella Lyncha (Madagascar), Lea Churros (Reunion Islands), Chole Juste (Mauritius) and plenty of others. Enjoy!!!
