Kred

The short story: I'm a DJ! I mainly play:

  • hip hop and pop to kids during the day
  • 80s / 90s and party tunes for friends weddings and birthday parties in the evenings, and
  • jungle / drum & bass at night.

The long story:

  • I got my first ghetto blaster in 1984, age 12, and locked into pirate radio like LWR and GLR with Tim Westwood, Dave Pearce, Mike Allen etc
  • towards the end of the ‘80s, my journey followed the sound as it evolved from hip hop into hip house, acid, hardcore, and into jungle and drum & bass.
  • Growing up in Barnet, I’ve always listened to pirate radio and had dj’s and producers as friends, and got into djing in the 90's, loving the jungle sound.
  • From 2005 to 2018 I played on Origin FM (that's a long time)
  • in 2007 me and Handy created Launch, a great drum and bass party.
  • from around this time I started playing for weddings too
  • In 2009 the Snow Centre opened in Hemel Hempstead, and I have run the music at their freestyle nights ever since
  • In 2016 me and Spam (me julie) created the Hiphop Hooray club, teaching kids about hip hop and having fun.
  • This was also when my local DJ'ing really took off, and I have played at lots of kids and adults birthday parties and schools. Some weekends I have 4 gigs!

Over the years I'm honoured to say I've played at some great places for all sorts of friends:

  • the mighty Sun and Bass in Sardinia
  • Launch, in different venues all over London
  • Bug Jam at Santa Pod
  • Area 51 skatepark in Eindhoven
  • the main stage at Transmission festival in Finsbury Park
  • weddings... from Belgium to Cambridge to Ruislip to Cornwall
  • RadBMX at Milton Keynes
  • Hemel Snow Centre (where my '80s mix was voted the best mix ever!)
  • pubs in Croxley Green and Rickmansworth
  • primary school fetes and leavers parties
  • hiphop hooray club birthday parties and holiday clubs (teaching kids how to mix and do street art too)
  • and generally too many clubs in and around London for me to remember.

So I think that's probably enough about me. Basically I love music and DJ'ing is always a pleasure. I created this page to be a permanent home for some of my mixes. I hope you like them!
