Dawless Live improvisation with Elektron Octatrack mk1.
All sounds and effects come from Octatrack
Outdoor live, near the fire, with my dear and loving wife :)

I start my live set with some seriously crazy polyrhythms, a triplet, binary, triplet (4:3:8) – perfect for some seriously experimental stuff!

Then the set suddenly shifts into darkness with the entire second part: dark, horrific, and sinister ambient.

It's actually inspired by the music from the film Sinister 1.

A mix of Trapcore, Horrorcore, and Noisecore...

To create this session, I automated three tracks with several different sounds and samples on each track, lots of P-LOCKS, and lots of FILL too, especially in the effects (bitcrusher, overdrive, and distortion). Everything is done in my OT.

To make my FM pad sample (at the end) polyphonic, I programmed it onto two different tracks of the Octatrack, each time identically with the same steps and length—in other words, they're doubles. But on each track, I change the pitch to simulate a chord, and the whole thing is automated with P-lock.

(The Octatrack is polyphonic, of course, but unfortunately, it can only record monophonic samples.)

Some samples featured in this live performance:
Elektron Digitone: FM pad, percussion
Elektron Analog Four: kick drum
Moog Subsequent 37: bass, noise percussion
DSI Prophet Rev2-8: rise noise effects
DSI PolyEvolver Keyboard: lead drum + overdrive
