Biography
HETTO

Since discovering House Music in 1993, Hetto Blaster has been caught by the ‘4-on-the-floor’ House Beat. Soon after his first nights out at House Parties, he got himself his own SL1200’s, started collecting records and got active at organising events.
This led him to quite some DJ-gigs over the years; first locally, but later throughout the Netherlands: The Trance Buddha (Amsterdam), Legalize! Streetrave (Amsterdam), Qlubtempo (Hemkade, Zaandam), Club Puma (Utrecht), Lief Festival (Utrecht) and more. He also played a few times abroad; in Brazil, Switzerland, Spain and Belgium.
In the meantime, he took his first steps at producing his own tracks, while graduating at the School Of Audio Engineering (Amsterdam) in 1998. However, due to his work as an engineer, DJ-ing and quite some production perfectionism, it lasted a long time for Hetto Blaster to being sufficiently satisfied with a track to have it released. Even though the people around him constantly tried to convince Hetto of his immense production qualities, he quite struggled a while to manage all his new inspiriations in order to finally finish a project. It turned out to be a learning curve.

2010 saw Hetto Blaster’s first official release; a remix of Alex Blanco’s & Natalie Parker’s ‘Subversive Minds’, released on ‘Project House Recordings’, followed in 2011 by two original tracks – ‘Whisper’ and ‘Rock Your Body’ - and a string of remixes (see below) released as ‘HETTO & 6ft7’ (a collaboration with Erwin Derksen) on the Jeepers! Label, run by the legendary DJ/Producer Nick Hook. Another remix, of Nick Hook’s ‘Skanking’, came out on Little Gremlin Music.
Quite a lot of these tracks were later licenced to compilation albums, amongst which: ‘Feel The Groove (House Of House), ‘This Is House’ (House Of House), ‘Ibiza 2012 – Back To The Island’ (House Of House), ‘House Code Vol. 1 (Wormland Gold), ‘Welcome To Miami’ (I Like That!), ‘Massive Miami 2012’ (Music Is The Answer) and others.

As the son of a professional jazz musician and a music mistress, music has been an enormous influence in Hetto’s life from childhood on. Already at the age of three, he started banging on his big brother’s drumkit and proved his family to have superb musical instincts.
