Orion - Alphas (Deluxe Version) (Preview)

by HardJazz7 Music

“When I dropped my debut album in 2013, It was recieved to moderate acclaim in the international beat scene. As a newcomer I didnt have many marketing resources at my disposal and was (and continue to be) very grateful for even the smallest support given. Beyond my ability to write to a fairly decent level, I relied heavily on my determination to get the music out there and belief in the quality of material. Pushing the project out as a DIY act was an exciting challenge especially having come from a non-business/marketing strategy background.

With the help of Tobi Olowu I was able to come up with the artwork that you see on the original cover depicting a blacked out London Back Alley. I cant remember the relevance of this in relation to the title, but It just looked really slick at the time. Shortly after the donation based release on the Bandcamp platform I thought the project had been forgotten. I was very wrong and found out the beat “Enjoy Your S**t While It Lasts” had been circulating on platforms like SoundCloud and Youtube.

Of recent as the beat had been gaining the support of several talented DJ’s, I was weary that people would not hold the full project to the same standard as “Enjoy Your S**t While It Lasts”. I have become increasingly focused on the development of the HardJazz7 Music Netlabel but I thought It would only be right to remind myself of why I do what I do and the cultural importance of instrumental hip hop in the mist of the remix stuff and placements. Thanks to everyone that has supported/will support this project in the past, present and future”. - Orion Anakaris
