There is a massive difference between artists who coast on past glory and those who are still hungry.
Many of the musicians who defined my formative years aren’t just resting on their laurels—they are actively creating. Look at Gary Numan, OMD, Depeche Mode, and Blancmange. They aren't just churning out filler, they are dropping phenomenal, high-quality albums today that absolutely stand up to scrutiny and put much of modern, assembly-line "sausage machine" music to shame.
Don't get me wrong—nostalgia has its place, and looking back is great. But nothing beats the thrill of a legacy artist delivering top-tier new material that actually wins over new generations. Give me fresh, high-quality art, and I am the first person in line for the vinyl, the CD, and the gig tickets!
