Gregor Mac

Scotland, UK

As Einstein once mused, the only source of knowledge is experience. Now into his third decade, Scottish DJ Gregor Mac has no shortage of experience, if nothing to compare to the theory of relativity.

Brought up on a strict diet of vinyl, he first made his name in the mid-90s in Scotland, the highlight being several bookings at Flicks, an infamous disco and house stronghold that attracted clubbers from across the country week in, week out.

With club owners preferring to book international names ahead of tried and trusted DJs with a loyal local following, Gregor took a well deserved break from DJing and music, only to pick up the thread again in 2010.

Enrolled in a couple of DJ and production classes in London to learn new skills, and get acquainted with the digital world, he was picked up for a series of four gigs at none other than the legendary Ministry of Sound. Enshrined in the Loft for the Subbass crew, he appeared on the same bill as Danny Avila, Paul Oakenfold, W&W, Judge Jules and R3hab. Not bad going for someone who took a decade off DJing.

With music once more coursing through his veins, he returned to his trusty decks with a vengeance, creating hours of underground, genre crossing mixes spanning house, tech-house and techno all underpinned by body-jackin’ basslines. With a renewed sense of purpose, he’s intent on making up for lost time and getting even more experience to his name, with gigs in Edinburgh and Glasgow already lined up.
