ReStructure Mix Update (4/23/26): ”Party Song” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Sticky Fingers

youtu.be/w9-VwMDLAGI

Sticky Fingers is a disco project from veteran disco producer Ian Guenther and Willi Morrison - who also gave us The Grand Tour, THP Orchestra, Southern Exposure, Ramming Speed and The Duncan Sisters. “Party Song” is the last track on the Sticky Fingers project which also features Phyllis and Helen Duncan on lead vocals. Released on the disco label Prelude Records in 1978 and became a dance floor must for the time period. This low BPM disco/funk number gives a jam session for the musicians to play out the never ending house party occurring in our song. The fantastic vocals of Helen and Phyllis are one of the big spectacles of this production which captures their diversity in delivery and excitement. Each project from Morrison and Guenther pushes the electronic fusion in their arrangement and this one pours it on thick successfully. A must for the Prelude Records disco album collector who knows the true direction of where disco music was headed in the late seventies in appeal.

I have taken the album version of “Party Song” and have spaced the original into new segments for this ReStructure Mix. I have placed a new beat and kick to the funky arrangement to give it a new resonance as well as a new direction.
