ReStructure Mix Update (4/1/26): ”Emotion (Le Jour se leve)” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Jaki Quartz

Jaki Quartz (Jacqueline Cuchet) is an 80s French singer who had several tracks which crossed over into the club scene with a hardcore and beautifully haunting vocals. “À La Vie, À L'amour” was her 1987 synth-pop tracks which became one of my favorites of all time - the energy is mid-tempo and the chorus is a chorus of singers out somewhere in the galaxy. “Émotion (Le Jour Se Lève)” is also from 1987 - produced and written by Gérard Anfosso. This pumping synth-pop piece is as melodic as a 70s disco track with more of an electronic pulse keeping the melody in our minds over and over. It centers on the feel of Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s “Relax” with its pumping bass segments and then takes us into the fantasy realm of ecstasy. A favorite artist and great tracks to discover her by.

I have taken the 12” version of “Émotion (Le Jour Se Lève)” and reapplied more of an early morning dub feel to the ReStructure Mix. Taking the drums and cascading keyboards into a whole new arrangement.
