ReStructure Mix Update (4/11/26): ”Do It” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Celena Duncan

Celena Duncan is a disco artist from the early 80s and produced by Sandy Linzer ("Native New Yorker", "Use It Up and Wear It Out" by Odyssey). “”Do It” is her single from 1982 which combines Linzer’s big band feel in a moderate and rhythmic arrangement. This piece is one of the rare disco pieces of the time and gives off the feel of Dr. Buzzard's Original Savannah Band from the late 70s. Exciting chorus segments give us a celebratory feel in a mild dose with the vocals of Celena outlining that torch diva feel. For a period where disco music became somewhat rare this one was welcomed into the 80s for many reasons not only to preserve the feel of disco music but also remind everyone how it painted the dance its true colors.

I have taken the 12” version of “Do It” and transformed the song into a new dub-like intro and extension for this ReStructure Mix. New percussion and breaks are added to give this new version a space between the wonderful vocals.
