August 2024.

The volunteers behind youth radio station Hitz FM 89.9 got together to celebrate 30 years
since the stations history-making first Melbourne-wide broadcast.

This recording from the night combines music from the station's 9 year broadcast history (1992-2001)
with recorded station promos and IDs to take you back to that time.

A Four and a Half Hour music celebration

From Hitz FM's early hard-rock/grunge days (Guns n Roses) through to pop (D:Ream, Dr Alban)
to house (Nightcrawlers, Moloko), Hip hop (Bel Biv Devoe, Outkast)
and even some rarities like Raspberry Cordial and one of the station's own remixes ("What about Me")
you'll hear it all.

And incredible audio memories

Between each song, there's ads (for Jolt Cola, various CDs and many classic Melbourne nightclubs)
and station IDs to take you back to the 90s.
