COLOR ON CANVAS – LOST – 18 x 24 cm

[DEUTSCH]: >>> Mir ging es darum auszudrücken, wie es sich anfühlt, verloren zu sein. Also dieses Wort oder der Ausdruck „ich fühle mich verloren in der Welt“. Wir haben ja auch politisch derzeit sehr viel mit Flüchtlingen zu tun und mit Flüchtlingskrisen weltweit, wo ich denke, was muss einen Menschen bewegen, sich so verloren zu fühlen, dass er oder sie sich in einer Nussschale sozusagen setzt und dann versucht irgendwo anders hin zu kommen und dort ein neues Leben anfangen zu können. Genauso im modernen Europa kennen wir reicheren Menschen das ja auch. Das Gefühl keine Verbindung zur Gesellschaft zu haben. Man wird wegen tausend Dingen diskriminiert heutzutage. Es ist Gang und Gebe. Ob es die Sexualität ist, die frei Persönlichkeit, ob es der Kleidungsstil ist, ob es die Hautfarbe ist, es ist immer irgendetwas, das nicht passt. Und ich denke, dass fast alle Menschen sich in irgendeiner Situation schon mal verloren gefühlt haben und das auch zu einem Stück weit kennen. Vielleicht nicht soweit, wie sich das für einen Flüchtling anfühlen muss. Aber ich glaube, das Wort „verloren“ haben wir alle schon mal empfunden.

[ENGLISH]: >>> I wanted to express what it feels like to be lost. So this word or the phrase "I feel lost in the world". Politically, we also have a lot to do with refugees right now, and with refugee crises all over the world, where I think, what has to move a person to feel so lost that he or she sits in a nut shell and tries to get somewhere else and there to start a new life. Just as in modern Europe, we richer people know that too. The feeling of not having a connection to society. One is discriminated against a thousand things nowadays. It is gear and prayer. Whether it's the sexuality, the free personality, whether it's the dress style, whether it's the skin color, it's always something that does not fit. And I think that almost all people have ever felt lost in some situation and know that too far. Maybe not as far as it has to feel for a refugee. But I think we've all felt the word "lost" before.
