Famous Oberogo (born Amsterdam, 23rd July 1999) is a Spanish singer of Nigerian descent, who shot to fame in 2018 by winning the 10th edition of Operación Triunfo, a TV talent show.

Famous, as well as winning OT, was also a candidate to represent Spain in the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv from 14th to 18th May, with the song “No Puedo Más”, written by the Spanish songwriter Leroy Sánchez and Americans Nolan Sipe and Louis Biancaniello. He has also collaborated with the Austrian singer Cesár Sampson on his song “Nobody But You”, which he did a cover of on his journey through the competition, a song which earned the Austrian 3rd place in the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon.

EARLY YEARS

Born 23rd July 1999 in Amsterdam (the Netherlands), his family decided to move back to Nigeria soon after, although later they would come to reside in Seville, where he has been a resident in the town of Bormujos since the age of 6. From an early age, Famous showed great interest in music, making a connection with his religious beliefs as he would sing gospel at church. Before taking part in Operación Triunfo, he was finishing his high school studies in dramatic arts.

MUSICAL INFLUENCES

He has named John Legend, Josh Groban, Stevie Wonder, Ariana Grande and Bruno Mars among his favourite artists yet his tastes are eclectic, enjoying everything from soul to pop.
