Sounds of Ehom

Ehom is a traveler exploring the Universe through sound. For him, music is not self-expression, but a tool for communication with the unknown. He acts as an antenna or a prism through which information flows pass and are decoded into musical canvases. Ehom is a dialogue with infinity, both outside and within.

Ehom is based in Belarus. He deliberately does not tie the project to any specific city, since he has lived in different places for long periods, and each of them has left its mark on his work. Ehom is Belarus as a whole.

Ehom is a solo endeavor. The artist does not play musical instruments, but he often uses live instrumental parts recorded by friends, field recordings captured on a dictaphone (for some tracks, searching for and recording sounds takes more time than creating the music itself), as well as spontaneous fragments captured in a wide variety of locations. In addition (for example, on the new album), he employs reamping techniques - playing back ready-made parts in selected acoustic spaces and re-recording them to "imprint" the sonic signature of a particular place into the track.

The name Ehom came naturally along with the first tracks. Its philosophy is this: if you dig deep enough, everything that exists in this world is waves, endlessly reflecting off one another. We are the echo of these waves. We sound as Echo. The project itself, in the author's view, is that echo.

At present, Ehom is ambient and all its shades, including post-ambient and atmospheric soundscapes.

The musician's creative path began in childhood - he heard music in his head without any external sources and could mentally alter it, creating his own versions. Even then, he understood where his soul was drawn. As he grew older, he gained access to various equipment, and his creativity began to take shape in soundtracks. To date, he has experimented with most of the major genres of electronic music, but has settled on ambient. He believes this genre offers more freedom and opportunities for creating spaces and worlds to escape into.

Ehom emerged as a new phase, when accumulated experience and inner changes reached a critical mass - a "quantum leap" occurred. His former self transformed, and associating the new music with his older works became impossible. Ehom is not a rebranding, but the birth of a new entity. That is why he tries not to connect this project with his previous work in any way.

Ehom is not a live artist in the classical sense. Occasionally he does DJ sets, but very rarely - Ehom's music is quite distinctive, and he finds it difficult to find a setting where these soundscapes can fully unfold.

His previous full-length album, "Memory Fragments," was released in 2016 on the German label 2063 Music.

Currently, he has no side projects. All previous works have transformed and merged into Ehom. All his creative attention is now focused solely on it.
