This mix was originally conceived as an actual cassette mixtape - you know, like a TDK D90 from the old days - during the 'My Life At 45' 7" series, encompassing some of my favourite tracks from my 45 years on the planet at the time. It was eventually requested by Craig Charles as an exclusive radio mix for his Funk & Soul show, and underwent numerous edits and changes to get it into shape for 2 x 30 minute broadcasts back in May 2020. You can hear Craig and I chat about the tune selection process in the middle of this recording, which brings together the two parts as broadcast on BBC 6 Music on 23rd & 30th May 2020.
