Music and sounds of DJ Jangbu

Born and raised in Montreal suburbia, DJ Jangbu picked up DJing electronic music on vinyl in 2001. Goa trance had been his first contact with electronic music, with artists such as Hallucinogen, X-Dream, Astral Projection, Infected Mushroom, Man With No Name, Nuclear Ramjet and Koxbox serving as early influences.

Jangbu was a regular fixture in BC's psychedelic scene for the better part of a decade until he relocated to Edmonton at the end of 2017.

Recognizable by its signature analog textures, raw progressive grooves, arpeggios and frequent use of Arabian scales, his selection is heavily influenced by psychedelic music, but remains accessible to a wide audience.

Ever motivated to grow the psychedelic dance community wherever he calls home, Jangbu has also been involved in the organization of single night indoor events and multi-day outdoor festivals for over two decades.
