MY STORY

I’m DJ MXP.

Until 2010, music wasn’t what it is to me today. I listened to music, of course, but I still didn’t know what it could truly mean in my life.

Then, in 2010, in the Canary Islands, something happened.

That was where the first seed of my passion for music was born. I didn’t know where it would take me, I didn’t know what my musical genre would be, and I certainly couldn’t imagine the journey ahead.

In the years that followed, life brought me many problems and difficult moments. Music remained there, sometimes closer, sometimes further away, but that little seed born in the Canary Islands never disappeared.

It has only been in the last two years that I really started publishing my DJ sets and sharing with other people what I feel through music.

Set after set, listening, searching and selecting music, I finally began to understand which genre was truly mine and which sound represented me.

And that is when I discovered South Africa through music.

South African Deep House deeply fascinates me. It moves me. I feel connected to it, to its sound and to the way I want to communicate emotions through a DJ set.

Then something happened that I had never planned: while I was becoming increasingly connected to South Africa through music, an important part of my audience began coming from there too.

Today, I finally feel that I have found a direction.

And now I’m taking a step that, not long ago, I could never have imagined: I’m creating my first original production.

MOVING IN MY LIFE.

The title is not accidental. It speaks about my life, about continuing to move despite what happens, and about finding the strength to keep going.

Today, music is no longer simply something I listen to.

Music gave me a direction.

Music healed me.

I don’t know where this journey will take me. And perhaps that is the beautiful part.

I only know that I want to keep living it, one step at a time, through music.
